Senior Software Developer .Net / C# – Permanent – Swindon

Essential Qualification / Experience:

  • Experience in an Agile team-based Senior software development role, developing and supporting enterprise applications.
  • Experience of working with Agile concepts etc.



  • Agile Development / Behavior driven development using tool such as Specflow.
  • Use of or experience with mid-tier/service technologies such as web services, WCF, WWF etc.
  • Strong experienced of the .NET framework & C# language
  • Experience delivering software within a fully Agile environment
  • Requirements Analysis and understanding a customer in order to extract their exact requirements
  • Solution Design, taking requirements and designing a solution that meets those needs
  • Object Oriented Design including knowledge and application of common design patterns
  • Database design and development, including use of SQL
  • Use of or experience with mid-tier/service technologies such as web services, WCF and windows services




  • Web Design
  • Any .Net certifications
  • Experience of new/emergent Microsoft development technologies


Overview of the role:


  • To undertake the analysis, design, coding and testing of systems
  • To undertake the maintenance and support of these systems
  • To undertake project management as required
  • To contribute to company’s knowledge base and influence the strategic development of technology platforms


Day to Day Responsibilities:


  • Acts as a mentor and act as a technical lead for Software Engineers and Junior Software Engineers.
  • Responsible for the analysis, design, coding and testing of components and sub-systems
  • Provides estimates for the development of components and sub-systems
  • Role model for software development and unit test best practices
  • Role model for software configuration management, build and release best practices
  • Maintains and supports existing software
