Business Development Manager - Business Travel ref: J442

Job Description: 

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join a well know brand in the corporate travel market. The main purpose of the role is to secure new business, shape compelling and relevant responses to formal tenders to secure profitable business and reach sales target. Can be based anywhere in the UK. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop a proposition for each customer based on identified customer needs that is bespoke where required
  • Contribute to the design, production and effective delivery of high quality sales presentations and proposals to prospective customers in accordance with agreed guidelines
  • Provide and distribute approved marketing materials with the aim of securing an appointment/sales visit
  • Ensure all appointments and proposals illustrate in a highly professional yet competitive light, with the end goal of securing the prospective business at an acceptably profitable price
  • Be responsible for updating and amending the customer database and securing to be on the tender list of each potential client within the UK
  • Liaise with Operations, Finance and Account Management for the implementation and hand-over plan of “new” sold business
  • Provide information and advice on the submission of proposals and assist/attend with the production and presentation of tenders, whether or not directly involved
  • Monitor, manage and report on all pipeline activity and discuss sales progress with the Director of Business Development
  • Evaluate the markets within the UK on a current and future basis, analysing competitive information and strategies
  • Maintain a favourable working relationship with all other company employees, to foster and promote a co-operative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum personnel morale, productivity and efficiency/effectiveness
  • Project at all times a favorable image to promote its aims and objectives and foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance in each of its areas and endeavours

Ideal background: 

  • Full clean driving licence
  • Track record of B2B sales growth and achievement, in professional services, with experience of selling a value proposition to corporates at senior level
  • Business Travel (distinct advantage and highly preferable)
  • If not Business Travel, then a related B2B sector with an understanding of the industry dynamics
  • Consultative, relationship based sales experience
  • Strong negotiator
  • Ambitious deal closer
  • Strong performer with highly developed presentation skills
  • Strategic thinker, bright, able to quickly grasp complex product and pricing
  • High energy, dynamic, highly self-motivated, ambitious

Location: Home based, competitive base salary + car or car allowance + bonus
