Business Development Manager - Travel Payment ref: J354

Job Description: 

Great opportunity for an established Commercial Payments Business Development Manager to step outside the traditional confines of Financial Institutions and join a leading FinTech player to challenge the status quo.

If you have experience of selling payment solutions to the Corporate Travel and/or Wholesale Travel industry, with proven competence in communicating payment technology and payment service concepts, we’d love to have a chat with you.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Performing the role of key facilitator in client meetings and workshops bringing in relevant expertise as required. Create and deliver professional sales pitches taking the lead sales role where appropriate.
  • Identify key roles within target client and partner organisations and develop strong relationships with the holders of those roles for the purpose of creating effective commercial relationships with their organisations.
  • Develop and structure propositions and deals that result in commercially successful business partnerships – in terms of significant sustainable transaction volume, revenue and profitability – with large enterprise customers, channel partners and strategic clients/partners.
  • Distil key customer needs from the client having completely understood existing B2B money-flows and legacy payment solutions recognising new opportunities for displacing incumbent solutions with disruptive approaches.
  • Keep abreast of industry news and gather information on competitors and new payment services and opportunities, and awareness of our clients’ and partners’ response to these competing offerings.
  • Planning & Forecasting: Create and maintain account plans for each client account and review these in regular one-to-one meetings with business unit owners and/or Management.   Provide a rolling forecast of anticipated activity for each client and opportunity.
  • Experienced SalesForce.com / Pipedrive practitioner (or equivalent) can clearly demonstrate their end-to-end understanding of sales pipeline management, from lead generation through to post sales active account management activity.
  • Work effectively with other staff and take the lead where appropriate regarding contracts, invoicing, payment chasing, etc. Implement best practices at the Sales Execution level.
  • Represent organization at internal and external client conferences and trade shows.

Ideal profile, experience:

  • Relevant industry experience selling payment solutions to the Corporate Travel and/or Wholesale Travel industry
  • An experienced practitioner across all aspects of the Sales Cycle understanding the demands through each step of the process through to Contract and pricing negotiation
  • Comfortable delivering presentations both over the phone and in person to all levels of client organizations including senior treasury, finance and procurement teams
  • An experienced solution selling campaigner with a track record of eliciting the customer's pain(s) and addressing the issue with his or her offerings (product and services)
  • Experienced in delivering finely tuned responses to RFI/RFP processes from Enterprise level organisations. Accomplished orator capable of delivering deal closing Best and final presentations
