Distribution Partnership Executive – Travel-Payment ref: J525

Job Description: 

We have a rare opportunity for a Payment Distribution Partnership Executive to join a major travel brand in the west London area.

In this role you will be responsible for managing relationship with multiple payment providers including acquirers, alternative forms of payment and card schemes. Your account portfolio will vary in size with the largest relationships being worth in Billions  in annual revenue. You will feed into short and long-term payment strategy, help deliver cost reductions and provide subject matter expertise where required. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who challenges the status quo and uses in-depth analysis to make informed decisions to drive change.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Distribution and Payment partners, ensuring that maximum monetary and strategic value is obtained from relationships, including support during contract negotiations
  • Own, resolve and appropriately escalate any errors in Distribution costs, using reports supplied by third party.
  • Ensure a strong technical and commercial understanding of how all price products reach partner customers.
  • Work closely with finance to support budget planning for Distribution costs and revenue streams, monitor actual performance throughout finance period and take appropriate action as required
  • Act on the insight provided to ensure appropriate changes are made to existing distribution & payment strategy.
  • Provide proactive and constructive input to projects across Commercial, and other partner teams to maximise profitability. Proactively identify opportunities for LEAN and Continuous Improvement in own role and wider  distribution.
  • Good understanding of the principles and concepts of Distribution & Payment policy, sharing the appropriate level of information with the partner, identifying alignment opportunity or issues. Comfortable presenting  current distribution roadmap and plans to drive greater understanding and adoption.
  • Gain good understanding of local distribution requirements to design and distribute tailored communications in both written and verbal format, for both internal and external audience


Ideal background:

  • Knowledge of indirect and online distribution models and technologies that are shaping this area
  • Understanding of airline selling processes including rev man and distribution
  • Comfortable working with strategies, policies and frameworks
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing and demanding environment, influenced by both internal and external change
  • Project Management – Planning and delivery of projects using recognised project management techniques.
  • Commercial –Understanding of revenue and cost plans, including distribution and channel costs.
  • Negotiation - Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders including partners on commercial and resource priorities.
  • Communication – Able to translate the complexity in the detail into simple clear messages, adapting style to the audience and situation. 
  • Technical – Strong understanding of new and existing distribution technologies including NDC.
