Job Description: 

Are you passionate about events and travel? Have you managed meetings, conferences and travel logistics on behalf of clients? Are you looking to join a small but growing group travel and events department in the heart of London?

Due to business growth, my client is looking for an additional team member to join its Groups & Events department. They are after a Group Travel and Events Specialist who is keen to learn and develop their talents whilst contributing their current knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching, planning and delivering event and group travel logistics to deadlines
  • Creating clear and attractive event proposals to clients, following up and responding within agreed SLA’s.
  • Anticipating other client needs and adding value where possible.
  • Maintaining a good relationship with  clients
  • Taking ownership of tasks and providing solutions to problems where necessary.
  • Keeping invoicing and event logs up to date
  • Maintaining and building on a solid knowledge of venues and other event suppliers
  • Understanding the importance of processes and contracts
  • Occasional onsite event assistance and overtime will be required.

Skills:

  • Previous experience within the UK travel industry, ideally within a group travel and/or events role.
  • Experience of booking multiple elements of group travel and booking meeting spaces or arranging events on a client’ behalf.
  • Solid experience of using Sabre GDS programme.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time whilst always maintaining a high standard of work and customer service.
  • Able to take a client brief and provide effective and appropriate solutions, matching the client’s criteria.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office, primarily Outlook, Word and Excel. The candidate must be able to format and amend documents to a professional standard.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, with high standards of punctuation and grammar.
  • Ability to solve problems and to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • A genuine interest in events, hotels and venues – we want you to love what you do!
  • Experience of using event management software or additional GDS system
