Pre-Sales Consultant, Payments, Travel ref: J115

Job Description: 

A rare opportunity for a Pre-Sales Consultant to join a leading provider of payments solutions across range of business sectors including the travel industry across Europe. Based from London the successful Pre-Sales Consultant must combine technical product knowledge and expertise with a deep understanding of the target markets and the ability to gather client requirements. The Pre-Sales Consultant must use problem solving skills to identify how the product can be tailored and configured to meet the requirements of the client. The Pre-Sales Consultant is core within the commercial team and a key element driving success in the sales process.


The key responsibilities of this position will be to:

  • Provide high level technical assistance to the Commercial team including general product education
  • Develop short to medium term relationships with clients and prospects through gathering and interpreting their requirements
  • Make technical presentations to clients, demonstrating how the product would meet the their specific needs; resolve client issues
  • Design and communicate how the product can be configured to meet the client’s requirements; working closely with the sales lead to persuade a client or prospect that the product will satisfy their needs in terms of quality and end delivery
  • Collect data as part of the sales process and record this along with the configuration design as a statement of work’ to assist the Implementation team in setting up the client. Pass this document on to Implementation and act as initial point of escalation for questions during the implementation process
  • Work with the global and local product team, support the requirements gathering and testing phase/process of new releases and internal product updates, representing the clients’ view
  • Work with the global and local product teams, analyse the costs of custom product requests from clients


Ideal candidate:

  • Background within Presales, Consulting, Product Management, Business Analysis or Implementation
  • Experience of working closely with Sales teams and supporting the sales process through the provision of knowledge and expertise on products or services
  • Experience of engaging with prospects in a sales environment and supporting sales people in commercial discussions
  • Experience of working in client facing roles, including building client relationships and presenting to clients or prospects
  • Experience of working in business where the products and services are delivered off a complex technology platform involving multiple suppliers or components
  • Experience of working alongside Product teams and staying abreast of product developments, competitor activities and market developments, and using these to inform client discussions
  • Experience of working within the payment and Travel industry, or another regulated sector
  • Demonstrable awareness of the key components and parties involved in the payments industry is beneficial but not essential
