Job Description: 

Fantastic opportunity for a Sales Director with Payment background to lead a European focused Sales team for a truly market leader in B2B payment space. The main targeted market is Travel industry.

Main responsibilities:

Develop and implement the new business sales strategy through strong leadership of the sales team hierarchy. To strive to exceed sales and revenue targets, whilst generating incremental levels of client acquisition in line with a material growth in market share for the company in Europe.

The Sales Director will display a high level of ambition and in-depth understanding of sales techniques, and customer engagement along with the proven ability of driving and motivate a team to achieve sales targets.

In this role you will:

  • Be a role model for a Sales-Led culture across the company.
  • Lead, manage and coach all sales activity for the organisation, providing inspirational leadership and direction to the sales teams and to the company as a whole.
  • Implement lead generation initiatives, in cooperation with the marketing and partnerships teams and through direct sales activity. Lead a team of sales executives operating in the UK & I, Spain, France, Italy, Germany and Netherlands; manage the sales process, managing appropriate metrics for sales pipeline management and drive the sales on a quarterly and annual reporting basis.
  • Be responsible for the developing the overall sales strategy and the associated revenue streams, hiring plan, pipeline forecasting and business growth within UK and have this approved by the Commercial Director.
  • Work with the Client Onboarding and Relationship Management teams to ensure delivery of revenue delivery from forecasted client expenditure
  • Develop and manage large deals and strategic relationships with ‘C’ level executives.
  • Develop and maintain an intimate knowledge of the client and respective industry environment, needs and objectives to help the company enhance/develop their product portfolio and reputation.
  • Develop and maintain an intimate knowledge of the competitor landscape, product portfolio and trends in other financial markets.
  • Set the tone for employee engagement in support of the sales culture of the organisation and act as the champion for the adoption of the corporate values

Ideal profile:

  • Achieved an outstanding record of Sales and Business Development within the UK and Europe.
  • Demonstrated first class team leadership, motivational and coaching skills effective for deployment across a wide spectrum of people and processes.
  • Demonstrated long term strategic development involvement in in the New Technology sector within the Financial Services and Travel, Outsourcing and Retail marketplaces.
  • Possess some knowledge of the prepaid and virtual market and how payments impact commercial models and business processes.
