Sales Manager - Travel Technology ref: J393

Job Description: 

This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join the UK’s leading travel tech provider as a Sales Manager. The Sales Manager is responsible for generating leads and selling the product line to tour operators and independent leisure travel agents. Working closely with product experts, they will own and drive the relationship with prospect customers from initial contact to proposal and contract closure. The primary sales territory is UK, Ireland & Scandinavia. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Proactive prospecting via email, phone and networking events
  • Establishing and developing relationships with travel agencies, tour operators and TMCs
  • Consultative style selling
  • Preparing and delivering presentations
  • Coordinating and overseeing in person and remote software demos with the assistance of sales support staff who will conduct the demos
  • Preparing commercial proposals
  • Negotiating commercial terms and preparing contracts for signature
  • Leading handover meetings to brief the Customer Delivery Team on new deals
  • Representing the company at trade shows and industry events

 

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: 

While not a technical sales role, having a broad awareness of the different types of systems travel companies utilise such as CRM tools, back office systems, reservation systems, booking engines, etc. would be highly desirable.

  • Sales experience in a business to business environment within the travel industry including sales presentations, in person and contract negotiations 
  • Experience in a travel agency, tour operator or a GDS highly desirable 
  • Experience in a sales capacity within a software company highly desirable 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Self-motivated and capable of working successfully under minimal supervision 
  • Able to thrive in a small, fast moving, fluid, and demanding organisation 
  • Knowledge of the Travel industry and Airline business 
  • Strong sales and negotiations track record
