​Our client is a major OTA focusing significantly on flight online sales.

They are here to solve the complexity of flight distribution by connecting millions of flights and travellers across the globe, from search and selection to trip and beyond.

They have also established strategic partnerships with companies like Skyscanner, Google Flights, TUI, etc.

The Air Content Team is responsible for ensuring that they offer the absolute best and broadest range of flight content possible at the best prices - and that they do so as reliable as possible. The team is constantly expanding, so we are now looking for a senior GDS expert to join their team. We are looking for highly experienced GDS expert with an extensive knowledge of flights, fares and findability to join our high achieving team and bring their own insights and influence.

We need someone who would love to directly impact the results of tens of millions of customer searches with their daily decisions. Someone who is confident working with multiple partners and diverse passenger types and instinctively knows how to generate the optimal air content for each one.

The ideal candidate will have a keen business instinct and understand how to prioritise ideas, how to focus effort and how to maximise revenue, conversion and performance. You would take guidance from data insights but apply your own creativity and experience to guide your actions and decisions. You will have extensive experience at an OTA, a GDS or an airline, in a field related to GDS search, to improving flight results and to optimising sales. Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of NDC as well. You should be at ease with stakeholding development projects and coordinating complex conversations between colleagues, teams and external partners.

Responsibilities:

● Be a driver of continued improvements to GDS content sourcing and findability, using data insights and novel approaches to find new and unique uses of GDS functionality.

● Help to shape team decisions, and medium and long term GDS strategy, coordinating with internal teams and GDSs .

● Drive improvements to performance and unit economics to meet and exceed company goals.

● Scope and stake-hold development related to GDS search, booking and revenue optimisation, lead implementation of new tools and quantify improvements and benefits.

● Help maintain and improve content quality and reliability, identify and manage errors.

● Assist with support and mentoring for new and more junior colleagues in a rapidly expanding team.

● Contribute to supporting other teams within the department where GDS skills are needed.

Requirements:

● Fluent in at least one of Amadeus, Galileo and Sabre, specifically search API functionalities, including a working understanding of XML

● Experience and high level of comfort working on large data sets and with data visualization tools, alongside strong analytical skills

● Strong analytical and data management capabilities

● Ability to act proactively, take initiatives and demonstrate a can-do attitude focusing on producing high-quality results within a fast-paced environment.
